Syed Tanvir Ahamed is a broadcast journalist and policy commentator with extensive experience in international journalism, political analysis, and public affairs. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Politika News, a UK-based digital news platform with a global audience, recording more than 10 million views every 28 days worldwide.He is the co-founder of the Centre for Global Policy and Governance (CGPG), established in December 2025, where he contributes to shaping the Centre’s strategic vision, research priorities, and public engagement. His work reflects a long-standing commitment to independent analysis, informed debate, and the promotion of democratic governance, human rights, and accountability.Based in the United Kingdom, Tanvir Ahmed has worked across broadcast and digital media on issues including democracy, political reform, media freedom, migration, and South Asian politics. His career combines frontline journalism with policy-focused analysis, enabling him to bridge public discourse and institutional debate on international affairs.At CGPG, he supports the development of research, dialogue, and outreach initiatives designed to inform policymakers, civil society, and the wider public. Sonjoy Kumar Roy
Co-Founder
Sonjoy Kumar Roy is a distinguished immigration expert with over a decade of experience in UK immigration law. A highly qualified legal professional, he is a Solicitor of England and Wales, a Barrister (Called in 2011), and a Chartered Executive Lawyer. His extensive credentials also include being a Level 3 Immigration Advisor, the highest accreditation granted by the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA), which enables him to provide the highest level of immigration advice and representation.He is the co-founder of the Centre for Global Policy and Governance (CGPG), established in December 2025, where he plays a leadership role in shaping the Centre’s strategic direction, research priorities, and governance standards. His legal expertise informs CGPG’s work on rule of law, democratic governance, state accountability, and the protection of fundamental rights, ensuring that policy engagement is grounded in legal rigour and practical experience.Based in the United Kingdom, Barrister Roy contributes to policy dialogue and public understanding on justice, migration, and governance, with a particular focus on rights-based approaches and institutional reform. His work bridges legal practice and policy engagement, supporting informed debate on domestic and international governance challenges.Alongside his leadership role at CGPG, he leads a regular public legal information programme, “Immigration Talks,” delivering weekly online question-and-answer sessions that provide free, accessible legal guidance on immigration and human rights issues to individuals and communities.The views expressed in his professional work are his own and do not represent institutional positions of the Centre.
